Inconel 601(UNS N06601) is a high-chromium-nickel alloy, specially designed for extreme high-temperature oxidation, carburizing and sulfidation environments, and holds an irreplaceable position in the fields of hot working, chemical engineering and energy. The core features and advantages of Inconel 601 tube:
High-temperature oxidation resistance, with a maximum continuous service temperature of 1250°C, which is superior to most nickel-based alloys. The key mechanism is that high chromium forms a Cr₂O₃ oxide film, and aluminum forms an Al₂O₃ inner layer. The double barrier is lower than oxidation spalling.
It performs exceptionally well in carbon-rich/nitrogen-rich environments such as cracking furnaces and carburizing furnaces.
Resistance to sulfur corrosion.
Thermal stability: No harmful phases precipitate at long-term high temperatures, avoiding embrittlement.
Good processing and weldability, with excellent thermal working performance. It can be conventionally welded and does not require heat treatment after welding.
The Inconel 601 pipe complies with the standard ASTM B167. Inconel 601 alloy tubes are benchmark materials for extremely oxidizing and carburizing high-temperature environments (800-1250°C), especially suitable for heat treatment furnaces, ethylene cracking furnaces and sulfur-containing exhaust gas systems. Its high chromium-aluminum content endows it with unparalleled surface stability, but it needs to be kept away from strong reducing acid environments. In the selection triangle (temperature / corrosion / cost), it fills the key gap between 600 and 625.

Product Characteristics:
A key property of Inconel 601 alloy is its oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1180°C. Even under severe conditions, such as during heating and cooling cycles, 601 forms a dense oxide layer that provides high resistance to spalling. 601 exhibits excellent resistance to carbide precipitation. Due to its high chromium and aluminum content, 601 demonstrates outstanding oxidation resistance in high-temperature sulfur-containing atmospheres.
Microstructure:
Inconel 601 possesses a face-centered cubic (FCC) crystal structure.
Corrosion Resistance:
Exceptional oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures, excellent resistance to carbide precipitation, and strong oxidation resistance in sulfur-containing atmospheres. Maintains excellent mechanical properties at both ambient and high temperatures, with superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Controlled carbon content and grain size confer high creep rupture strength, making 601 recommended for applications above 500°C.

Packing
